First Nursery Project Finished!!

I am so proud of myself, I must admit. I made closet dividers! I went to a craft store and bought wooden door hangers, paint, and paint brushes. I bought a few other things, but I will go into that at another time.
When I got home I looked in baby boy's closet and there isn't a way to remove the bar where the clothes are hung, so I had to cut a slit in each door hanger (8 of them) in order for them to hang properly. So, what did I do you ask? I took a kitchen knife and used it as a saw to cut them. I know, you cooking guru's are having a heart attack at that thought, but what's a girl to do when her DH is out of the country?
After each one was cut, I painted them green front and back.
Once they were painted with 2 coats of paint each I allowed them to dry then wrote on each on the clothing size: NB, 0-3, 3-6, 6-9, 9-12, 12 mos, 18 mos, and 24 mos.
Once white paint was dry I used some yellow paint and got creative.
So here is the finished product hanging in the closet, well, one of them anyway...

The entire project cost me about $15 including paint and brushes. The door hangers were only $1 each. I think for $15 they turned out pretty well, and hopefully they will last a long time.

Labs are Back

Yesterday I turned in my 24 hour urine test as well as had some blood work done to check for Pregnancy Induced Hypertension. My MW was supposed to call me yesterday afternoon, but not shockingly he didn't so I called him today. He said that the volume of urine I turned it was really high (It was 3,000 ml or 3 Liters). Because of the high volume my protein levels were elevated. All of my blood work came back normal, so he thinks they are high because of the volume of urine. He wants me to repeat the 24 hour urine test when I go in for my next appointment on May 24 as well as do my 1 hour glucose test.
Since my labs came back normal, for the most part, I will still be able to make the trip to see my family where they will be throwing me my first Baby Shower!! Yay! Thank you Jesus for this wonderful news and keeping me and our Little Guy healthy!

Happy V-Day!

He is still a Papaya!

How far along? : 24 Weeks Viability Day!!!

Total weight gain/loss: I am up 10 pounds since the day I found out I was pregnant. Yikes! I've never seen numbers this high on the scale. My Mw told me to not gain 10 pounds in 1 month again.

How big is baby?: Baby is the size of a Papaya! It is about 11 inches long from head to rump. If I had to guess I would say he is about 11-11.5 inches long, but what do I know, really?

Maternity clothes? Yep, all maternity! I can wear some sweat pants and my t-shirts that are non maternity. I am almost in the need of maternity undershirts. (Same)

Stretch marks? My fist official stretch marks are around my belly button, nice, right?

Sleep: It is alright. Some nights are better than others. Some mornings I wake up with a back ache and stiff, but other mornings I wake up feeling great. Still this.

Best moment this week: Having people ask me about my registry for my Baby Shower!

Movement: Yes!! I feel him alot now. He is getting so strong.

Food cravings: Juice, water, milk, cereal, and pizza! But I have orders to stay away from salty foods and fast food.

Gender: Boy!! We are so excited!

Labor Signs: Nope, but I feel pressure on my cervix when I'm on my feet too long.

Belly Button in or out?: It's official, I have an outie now. You can even see it through my shirt.

Milestones: 24 Weeks!!! Huge milestone, Huge!

New Pregnancy Symptom: Frequent urination is back. It went away for a while, but its back. Also big, fat puffy face and hands. I think that is weight gain related.

What I am looking forward to: My MW is giving me another ultra sound at my next appointment.

Weekly Wisdom: Think positive thoughts and trust in God, He will work everything out according to His plan.

Story of the week:
I went to my appointment on Monday and my blood pressure was still high. So, my MW ordered a 24 hour urine test in which I peed a total of 2.8 liters. He was checking for signs of Pre-Eclampsia, which is not a good thing to have when pregnant. I turned in my urine and had three vials of blood taken to check for Pregnancy Induced Hypertension. On my way out I ran into my MW and told him I was feeling shaky so I may have high blood pressure now, so he checked it and it was only 118/76. At my last three appointments it hasn't been under 135, so 118 was music to my ears! He said if he knew it was going to be that low then he wouldn't have had so much blood taken from me.

Here is my 24 Week Picture! Sorry about the door, my camera wasn't angled correctly.

I Thought This Day Would Never Come!

Today was my last day of Student Teaching!! I am so beyond thrilled that I am only one semester away from graduating! Normally the semester you student teach is the semester you graduate, but I have a summer class to take, only one online class, though.

I am at that point where I am so close that I am afraid that something is going to go wrong that will prevent me from graduating this summer. I know I am paranoid, but it still freaks me out. It has taken me 6 years to get to this point so I am eagerly awaiting my time to be finished with this and I can be a stay at home mom.

So for you college grads, did you get nervous it all wouldn't work out you would be in school forever?

23 Weeks! Yes, I'm still here

23 Weeks!
Baby's now the size of a papaya!
Baby's little face is fully formed...minus the baby fat, of course. The next task at hand for baby: sprouting two teeny-tiny nipples!

How far along?
: 23 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: I am up 9 pounds since the day I found out I was pregnant. Yikes! I've never seen numbers this high on the scale.

Stretch marks? I think I might be getting stretch marks around my belly button. Ugh.

Sleep: It is alright. Some nights are better than others. Some mornings I wake up with a back ache and stiff, but other mornings I wake up feeling great.

Best moment this week: Finally deciding on a name! But we aren't telling, so sorry!

Movement: Yes!! I can feel baby everyday now! It is amazing.

Food cravings: Juice, water, milk, cereal, and pizza! Yummy! I am also getting into eating lots of fruit.

Gender: Boy!! We are so excited!

Labor Signs: Nope, but I feel pressure on my cervix when I'm on my feet too long.

Belly Button in or out?: It's official, I have an outie now. You can even see it through my shirt.

Milestones: Having to take off my wedding rings and getting my outie belly button.

New Pregnancy Symptom: New item of the past two weeks, swollen fingers and hurt feet. I had to take my wedding rings off and buy cheap Wal-Mart ones.

What I am looking forward to: Next week is V-Day!

Weekly Wisdom: Take this time to enjoy yourself and the time you have with just you and your DH. Things will never be the same (so I've heard).

20 weeks and pictures!

20 Weeks!!

Your Baby: Week 20

Baby's digestive system is busy creating meconium (a tarry black substance made of swallowed amniotic fluid, digestive secretion and dead cells), which will fill the first diaper after birth. And, speaking of the diaper situation... baby's genitals are now fully formed!
Source: thebump.com

How far along? : 20 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: Plus 1.5 pounds since the day I found out I was pregnant. So, according to my calculations I can gain 1 pound per week and be in great shape! We'll see if that happens...

How big is baby?: Baby is the size of a Cantaloupe! It is about 6.5 inches long from head to rump. If I had to guess I would say he is about 10 inches long, but what do I know, really?

Maternity clothes? Yep, all maternity! I can wear some sweat pants and squeezing out of some yoga pants and my t-shirts that are non maternity. I went to Motherhood today and bought 5 new shirts that are so comfortable and really nice so that I can wear them to work and church.

Stretch marks? None yet! I think my lotion habit is starting to work.

Sleep: Miserable! I wake up throughout the night. Last night I woke up at 3:30 and didn't get back to sleep until 6:00. But, some nights are wonderful.

Best moment this week: I felt my first actual kicks this week. Last night I was able to feel a kick from the outside with my hand. Buying little guy is furniture, bedding, and some new clothes for him this week.

Movement: Yes!! I can feel baby everyday now! It is amazing.

Food cravings: Chocolate Milk!!! All I want is chocolate milk. And water has become a new love this week. I have been so thirsty this week.

Gender: Boy!! We are so excited!

Labor Signs: None, but RLP is terrible.

Belly Button in or out?: In, but getting more shallow everyday. Yikes!

New Pregnancy Symptom: Other than back pain and RLP all things are pretty much the same.

What I am looking forward to: Finding a name that the two of us like.

Weekly Wisdom: When you think something may be wrong tell your doctor or midwife!

Milestones: Finding out we're having a boy! Feeling outside kicks!!

Comparison pictures are below. First one is 16 weeks compared to 20 weeks today. Wow! What a difference! At least I think so.

I got my bedding ordered! The quilt is on backorder until June 3. But since we aren't painting then I am able to be patient until it comes in. At least other parts of the collection will be here soon. My little boy's room is starting to come together! We decided on Pottery Barn Kids the Madras Collection http://www.potterybarnkids.com/products/madras-nursery-bedding-blue/?pkey=bboys-nursery-bedding

Isn't this the Cutest Thing Ever?

I bought our little boy his First Outfit yesterday!! I was doing some shopping at Wal-Mart and browsed through the baby section (of course) and saw this on clearance for $5.00!! It was originally $15.00. I couldn't believe it! It is in three pieces so the pants and onesie can be used for other outfits. It is so much fun buying clothes for our little boy!
